This morning I went to my local dump with rubbish as i have done for a number of years. After paying the fee I collected the receipt as normal for tax refund purposes. However when I got home I realised the receipt may be no use as I've been made redundant earlier this year and won't have taxable income above allowances. So am I correct that the charges will now cost me 20% more than when I was employed (I was able to claim 20% of the charge against tax when working) or am I missing something?
