Redundancy Advice

Hi, I have been working for a company for over 5 years now based in Dublin. This was a sub office of the main company which was based elsewhere in the country. A well known foreign company has purchased the company and chose a few moths ago to to close my office and instead do our jobs from there. Whilst there are only 3 workers in my office, there are 100+ in the head office. One has chosen to move home, one has received their 8 week notice period and has just finished and received the lump sum payment. The Dublin office is no longer open and I have been travelling to work and staying in a hotel (paid for) for a couple of weeks. They have confirmed that they will give me redundancy but will not issue it to me writing yet. (I think our replacements are struggling to cope). As I live about 2hrs 50 mins from the new office, I am getting a bit worried. They told me I would finish at the end of June and are now dodging the issue. Any advice out there ??? This is obviously too far to be travelling and is grounds for redundancy. Do I have to travel here ?

I heard the consumer rights advisor on Newstalk (Andrew ????) mention that if your employer moved more than 20 miles, you would be entitled to redundancy. However, your legal entitlement would be statutory redundancy only, which may not amount to a huge amount with just 5 years service. You may be able to negotiate for a better deal.
