Hi folks a quick one for you,
My mam has worked in her employment for over ten years and she has a contract of employment. However there are no specific hours on her contract she was hired to do part time hours at the start two days one week, three days another, etc. Over time this developed into five day a week. At the start she was working days now she works evenings, its in a factory-contract very basic she can do whatever they want basically-so used to work on the floor and has worked in Canteen for last number of years. Anyway to make a long story short has been working the 5 evenings for most of the last year -often sats also. The it was reduced to four evenings a few months ago but now she has just been told the factory is going on a three day a week until the summer and then will be doing the shut down for two weeks (same every year) and after that they do not know the position.
I'm just wondering would she be entitled to social welfare as she had no set hours?
