Hi, Does redeployment in the hse mean moving from one workplace to another or does it also apply to switching departments within a building itself , ie a hospital. A friend of mine with a long service record has no choice but to switch departments along with his colleagues. His issue is he has been given the worst of the possible options even though he is the longest serving. I see in the Croke park agreement that seniority comes in to play in a case of redeployment but I do not know if that means moving a mile down the road or within the building itself, Any help would be appreciated.

Redeployment can mean switching from one area to another within the same building.

If your friend is unhappy with the consequences for him in making such a move and feels he has been unfairly treated then he can appeal such redeployment - he should contact his union immediately.

Deiseblue, Thanks for confirming that issue , He has now contacted his union rep, It seems to me that the management in question did not read the Croke park agreement or they are hoping that the staff were not bothered either, Thanks again Salaried.
