recruitment agent didnt pay

Asking question on behalf of a friend.

Hi,a friend of mine was hired by a recruitment agent in dublin in December, to supervise and event. 16euro for 10 hours work.
Was promised to be paid before december 25th.wasnt paid.called end of dec to be told its being sorted.by early january still not paid.phone calls were made to agent january and february.

Friend went into the office end of feb and mid march.was told by manager its still being sorted.Its now may and still nothing.any advice ? manager in recruitment agent is now "out of the office"

I would put the details of the job (date, location, hours worked, duties) and demand for payment in a letter, attaching a copy of any paperwork your friend has relating to the employment.

I would send the letter by registered post to the Manager of the Agency (use his/her name in the letter and on the envelope) requesting payment by close of business within 7 days.

Would hope that this would be sufficient to jolt them into action.

You could also check to see if they are members of the National Recruitment Federation and, if so, your friend could make them aware of the Agent's conduct.
