Recommendations for renting house in Greece / Balkans

Hi,

we are planning a holiday for July with another couple and 3 small kids (under 4) and are hoping to rent a house with a swimming pool.

We are considering Greece / Croatia / Slovenia, but have no experience of these countries. We would like to be reasonably near the sea, and a town for restaurants etc, but don't need nightlife etc.

Can anyone recommend something along these lines ?

We flew to Croatia with Ryanair 2 years ago, to Pula. I rented an apartment in a small town called Medulin, not far from Pula. lovely place, eating out very cheap in the few restaurants along the sea front. The apartment overlooked the harbour. We pre-rented a car at Pula airport. The roads are good but mostly single lane so will be busy in summer. we drove up through Slovenia into Italy, Trieste, and back in one day just for the crack. Lovely holiday. Around Pula are nice small towns to visit.
