Recommendation for long life exterior paint or coating.

Anybody recommend a long life exterior coating for a house. I had my house painted about 4-5 years ago and already it is flaking badly so would rather a long life paint or coating was used, something like Evertex perhaps?
 
I plan to do my own next year, and did a bit of reading about this, and ColorTrend paint seems to be recommended highly.

Its an Irish brand too.

I think preparation is all important too, making sure surfaces are cleaned properly before paint application. Will help it last longer.
 
I used Sandtex and found it great. Painted the house about 8/9 yrs ago and it still looks well. They say they give a 15 yr guarantee, whatever that might mean! But I'm happy with it.
