Hello - we're looking at wall mounting our flat screen tv. Could anyone who has had this done in the past please recommend a handyman to do this. How much did it cost? Can they run the cables through the wall to the power / cable points to keep them from view? Thanks for you help.

Why not try yourself it is straight forward enough, you can google for video of how to do, to hide the cable can be tricky but I have seen people who have hidded them in the wall by removing some concrete alot of work , why not use trucking to hide you can get nice narrow trucking to do the job, if it is a up todate tV you may want to access other cables such a VGA,scart ,HDMI if you want to hook up your laptop to the TV,

husband hung two in recent years, not a very tricky job at all, just measure, level and drill (easy to say if ur the watcher perhaps). We put the tv in the sitting room over the stove/fireplace and have the black cables running from the power points behind the armchair along the top of the skirting board, up the side of the fireplace using little clips and over its top and then a couple inches up to meet the tv. I placed three ball shaped ornaments under the tv centrally one covering the wire, the eye for the Sky sits neatly there also. The cables from the tv werent long enough to meet the power point so he connected a long bit of black cable and wrapped in black tape. The wall is painted a very darkish chocolate brown and now really cables aren't even noticeable.

The kitchen tv luckily had the power point/sky connection in the correct place.

The mount will come with instructions anyway, first tv we purchased the mount with it for over 100€, next one i got in tesco in a green box for around €25 and it hasnt fallen off the wall yet....
