Reclaiming exit tax

Hi,

Is it only standard rate tax payers that can't reclaim exit tax on returns gained on life assurance investment bonds & unit trusts?

Or is it the case they can only claim 20% back? I'm pretty sure that 41% exit tax is levied against returns on the above products.

What other investment products, if any, are there restrictions on reclaiming exit tax?

Cheers

You can't reclaim exit tax. Non residents are exempt from paying it.
It has nothing to do with standard / higher tax bands.

thanks tenchi fan,

Came across an article about exit tax which will shed a bit more light on the area..I think though certain people can reclaim exit tax such over 65s..

Thanks again.

They can't. You're thinking of Dirt. Very few people can claim back exit tax.
