A friend tells me that she thinks some legislation was recently enacted , part of which amends a landlord's obligation to maintain property and grounds - is there any truth in this ?
My situation :
Renting a house with lots of hedges/lawn/shrubs etc. Verbal agreement with letting agent that landlord would maintain property which landlord now denies. The place has the potential to become a mini Amazon and I stupidly missed a clause in the 1 yr lease stating that I am responsible for upkeep of the property. We are 2 months in to the lease.
Would never have agreed to take the place on under the condition that I'm responsible for upkeep - just not feasible for me, no equipment etc.
Thanks for any advice.
