Receiving gift from Aunt abroad.

Hi,

I am on the back to education scheme and have just been informed my Aunt wished to gift me 5,000 pounds. I cannot find online anything to do with this, will this payment have any effect on my BTE allowance? I have to sign back onto the regular dole for the summer again soon as the course is finishing for 3 months or so - would having this money in my account make it harder to do this?

Thanks in advance, have tried to search online as I say but not sure where to look other than the BTE site and I can't see much on there.

You can have up to 20k in savings and still qualify for jobseekers allowance so unless you have other savings it will have no effect on it.
