Mrs. Carpedeum has let a chink of light shine on her investments and has requested my guidance... with all the risks to my being that that it entails.
She invested 20K in a Member Bond with EBS in May 2004, rolled over annually. The returns are as follows:-
Initial investment: €20,000
Invested: May 2004
Maturity date: 9/11/2007
Gross Interest: 937.19
Net Interest after DIRT: 749.75
Net maturity Amount (Less Dirt): €21.519.24
My obvious reaction is to close the account and move it. I have looked at Fixed Rates for Lump Sums over 2 Years
and beloive that these are the best:-
Anglo Irish 9.75% (4.76% AER)
Irish Nationwide: 9.25% (4.52% AER)
Can someone just confirm that these are the best?
N.B. Her-Indoors wants total capital protection.
