Re-applying for FIS

Hi All,

I am in receipt of the FIS allowance since May 08. I am just wondering if anyone else who is receiving this has had any delays when re-applying after the year is up? I presume you have to wait until the year is up before applying for the next year and if so will there then be a waiting period in between?

Hi,

Have been claiming fis for two years now and reapplied last year.

Not sure how much you know, but you get a new form, (not the full application form)

which you take to employer as u will have done for the original assessment.

then you sign to say if there are any changes etc etc.

the form will come about 2 months before your fis runs out, you have a while to complete it.........ie my claim ends in March 2009 yet I have til April 2009 to submit reclaim form????? (havent worked out why this is yet!!)

the money stops after 52 weeks of payment and yes there is usually a long delay before you get the new assessment.

last year i waited about 3 months but everything was backdated to the date the last payment ran out.

Thanks a million for this info. I was not aware of how it worked at all when re-applying so at least now I can prepare for the in between period from when it runs out to when I will hopefully start receiving it again.
