RAS ? Is scheme transferable to another area?

Hi, Would anyone know if the scheme wherby a rent allowence tennant whom has been approved for the RAS scheme in one area (wicklow) can
use it/transfer it to another area? (Dublin)

Is it specific to the area of approval?

You apply in the area you live in for Rent Supplement. Thre are different thresholds of supplement payable in different areas.
 
Hi welfarite - do local authorities stop doing this because they are over subscribed? I have been trying to contact very unsucesfully I might add my local authority RAS Unit and they have not returned any of my messages. A friend of mine got through to "someone" who said that they had stopped doign the scheme and when asked more questions they were told that they would have to source the tenants not the authority - is this correct do you know???

I have all the leaflets but always best to try and speak with someone:( Sorry I might add that I would be a landlord
 
Sorry, I misread your post. I'm afraid I don't know too much about approved RAS what it means to landlords.
 
It is specific to that area only. I had a tenant move from another area, had to reapply to RAS in my area.
