RaboDirect and McAfee

Having unsuccessfully attempted to access my online RaboDirect account today, I telephoned them and was told that because I have McAfee installed on my PC, and because McAfee initiated some update last week, I will be unable to access my account from my own PC. I did try to disable McAfee for a few minutes to do the business, but apparently I would have to uninstall it altogether, which I am reluctant to do. To transfer funds, I would have to send them a fax - email insufficient as it would not contain a signature. I have now sent an email with an attachment containing my signature authorising them to carry out the transaction and am awaiting the outcome. Anyone else had the experience?

I have McAfee installed on my computer and I never had any any prolems accessing my rabo a/c online. A strange one indeed:confused:

Hi, Milly

Had exactly same problem 2 weeks ago and it still exists. Unable to log on because of Mc Afee. I was informed that not all Mc Afee customers are affected(????). Couldn't give me a time frame as to when it will be sorted!!!

Maddad, at least I'm not the only one. They told me there were discussions ongoing with McAfee.

Personally I would not use McAfee at all. I prefer to use free (for personal use) security tools instead. See the "clean PC" sticky thread in the IT/Broadband forum. Unfortunately they force us to use McAfee at work and it's a pain. :(

We are actively investigating this issue. It does not affect all McAfee users. We are in contact with McAfee as well as conducting a range of tests on our side. But given that it doesn't impact all McAfee users this is making it somewhat harder to isolate the problem. We are developing a fix that we hope may solve the problem but we also need some info from McAfee. As soon as we have more information we will let our customers know. RaboDirect
