Quite lost with tax registrations and getting ROS set up

I'm trying to register for the relevant taxes - income, capital gains - for dividends, capital gains on stocks sold, interest where DIRT isn't deducted.

Yet I'm quite lost with Revenue's website in a number of respects. When I try to register for income tax it's asking for details associated with a business activity such as expected turnover. I've got my ROS set up but only CAT and Excise licence forms are available for filing returns and can't see form 11 anywhere?

Could anyone explain how they went about getting everything set up for reporting and paying the above taxes? Or is there a thread I'm missing?

I had to register for Income Tax specifically for EU Deposit Interest recently. The registration process is cumbersome and far from intuitive and there were a number of roadblocks along the way to registration. At each of these I entered details of the issue on My Enquiries, then waited 5-7 days for a response, and when I got it moved another few cm forward, met the next obstacle, entered the details on "My Enquiries", waited 5-7 days....... rinse and repeat basically. The "business description" I was told to use was "Eu deposit interest" and I was told to leave all other fields blank, however I was unable to enter anything because of leftovers from a previous registration, so that required another "My Enquiries" manual intervention.

@Freelance Truly sounds like a nightmare! It's asking for a NACE code as well... I had been asking them on tips for paying the exit tax on a tiny 1eur or less gain on an ETF holding and they answered incorrectly giving answer for capital gains tax and then took months to reply again to my subsequent reply.

You enter whole numbers. If it's less than one it's zero.

Is there any knack to getting timely responses from Revenue? Should one do a new query rather than respond to an answer in an existing query? I'm getting worried I won't have my ROS set up in time given the slowness. It was over a month for the first response to my query in early January, then nearly 2 months (April) to my further clarification question, and now I'm waiting over 2 weeks to my question asking for further instruction!
