Does anyone know if I buy a copy of quickbooks from the UK will it be the same as oe from Ireland i.e. will I be able to change the currency from £ to € and is there any other material difference?

Also is there much difference between Quickbooks 2006 and 2008?

vat could be different, I dont know if qb allows you to set your own rates, also the UK pay in quarters, we dont
 
I use QB and yes you can customise the currency you use.
It's easy to use so I would recommend it from that point of view BUT it annoys me every two months when I need to do a VAT return as it does not provide bi-monthly reports, quarterly ones instead.
 

Can you not restrict reports to Bi-monthly dates by using Date: Custom and the period 01/09/08 to 31/10/2008 for your most recent Sep/Oct return?
(I'm still using QBPro 2002 but not in a 'VAT business' so I've not tried this!!!)
