I'm a civil servant and just have a question for other civil servants. My Department is currently reviewing the merit award scheme which has become very controversial over the past few years, with some very dubious nominations. In fact, it has got to the stage where a lot of people just don't want to be associated with it anymore because it has become a bit of an embarrassment. I'm just wondering if any other government departments have actually come up with a fair way of operating this scheme. By the way, I'm not involved in the review or anything, I'm just curious.
