Question about Time in Lieu

Hello,

Can anyone tell me if overtime and time and lieu should be the same? As in, if you work outside your 9 to 5 and are not getting paid overtime but are getting time in lieu instead, should you be getting an hour and a half for every hour you work time in lieu, like you would get time and a half payment?

No you only get 1 x time for time in lieu.

With time in lieu you are not working extra hours , just delaying your time off. With overtime you are working extra hours you never get back.

Some time in lieu is worked different, like in a week the first 3 hours are hour for hour the next 3 hours are 1 X 1 1/4 hours then the next 3 are 1 x 1 1/2 hours.
Would much prefer to be paid !!
