query tax relief

Hi,
My partner will be made redundant shortly. As I had most of the tax reliefs I take it I will lose these now that he will be on the dole?? Do you think they will rethink the tax reliefs and the inequity with one spouse working?? I know that the individual assessment was to encourage people to work but now with unemployment rising and no jobs it seems so unfair. I know I have a job and my partner will shortly not have one (like many others) but it is a double hit to the family income.
Can anyone clarify the tax reliefs for me.

One spouse working:

Married person tax credit €3,660
PAYE credit €1,830

SRCOP €45,400

Two spouses working:

Married person tax credit €3,660
PAYE credit x 2 = €3,660

SRCOP €45,400 + up to €27,400 for second income

However, please note that the Jobseekers Benefit is taxable, with the first €13 per week being exempt from tax. The person getting jobseekers benefit is entitled to the PAYE tax credit up to the limit of the income.
