Hi,
I have received my P21 for last year. There is one thing that I dont understand, and due to the industrial action, I cant ask revenue.
Just wondering if anyone on AAM can help.

The tax credits are listed as follows

Personal Tax credit Self - 0, Spouse 3660
PAYE Tax credit Self 1597.60, Spouse 1830

I do not know of any reason why they would reduce my PAYE tax credit.
This could be an error, but does anyone know of a reason why this
would happen.

Thanks,

They done this to me. Because this credit cannot be shared they said I only needed this lower amount to cover my tax liability. My hubby paid tax, so I argued I wanted some of my other credits transferred to hubby to cover him and then I would need all of this credit allocated to me. Could'nt get accross what I wanted done so gave up, maybe its just me, but some of the staff in revenue seem to be undertrained......

Ahh, I didn't think of that. But I paid more than 1830 in tax over the course of the year.

The PAYE credit is not transferable between spouses. Even if you don't use it all, you can't transfer it. Sorry zippidydo, the revenue staff might have been right.

If they transferred all of your personal credit to your spouse, thats all they can do.

if you take self gross *20% is more than likely 1597.60, it is restricted if not enough income to cover it

Normally better chance of getting revenue on phone in morning

or maybe underpayment in prev year or years and they reduce credit
