Hi

Is there much bother with the dual push button toilets compared to the lever flush ones.

They nearly all seem to be the push button ones these days but i have heard that they can give problems.

When the water rates come in, the dual button will be the better option.. Never had any problems with mine.

I've had trouble with mine and the plumber who fixed it said that he is always fixing them, but that is because there are loads of cheap ones out there. The decent quality ones are very good.

They are a lot more problematic then the traditional handle flush toilet. Also getting matching parts can be difficult. A lot of importers of specific types of push button toilets are no longer in business.

A lot of hotels seem to use them.....if that is anything to go by. Personally I'd stick with the old handle, does what it says on the tin

Indeed. I wonder if the push-button ones comply with the Part M building regs? The TGD notes;

(u) the activation of a manual flush mechanism should be clearly visible, easy to use and require little strength and no fine hand movements. TGD G should be referred to for guidance on efficient use of water for flushing. Spatula shaped WC flush handles are suitable for people with a wide range of abilities and can be activated with an elbow or fist;

What makes are decent quality for the dual flush push button option. If your not allowed name brands on here could you PM me a name or 2.

I was in a tile/plumbing shop at weekend and i didn't see even one of the lever flush options.
