Pump Shower

HI folks

We're moving into a new (well new to us ) house soon and they just have a Triton electric shower. My previous experience of these is that they are very noisy, quite high on electricity and the power isn't that great.

What would be involved in getting a pump shower (I don't mind not having hot water immediately and will be able to use heating/emersion but I really want a shower with power (like hotel showers if you know what I mean).

Any ideas/thoughts/recommendations and ideas of costs/what's involved etc (btw we're on a group water scheme - will that make any difference)?

Don't knock it till you've tried it. Electric showers mightn't have all that much pressure, but they are an absolute joy when there's not enough hot water for a shower. First thing in the morning or whenever there's a rush on the bathroom.

Completely agree.... those electric showers a pathetic excuse for a shower. Nothing worse than standing under one of those things trying to shower. My mother has one and any time I stay there I avoid bathing rather than use her triton super delux XG5xi (or what ever its called). I would not have one in the house at all.

Most homes have hot water to spare these days with central heating going at least a couple of hours a day so the electric water heating feature of a triton shower is not really needed.

My wife and I installed a high powered 3 bar shower pump this year. Such is the power you could wash elephants in the zoo with this thing. We paired the pump with a thermostatic shower valve. This regulates the temp so that its both powerful and just the right temperature without having to twist at the taps to regulate the temp.

Only downside to the pump is that they consume more water than a non pumped shower, which is not good for the environment. As we don't pay for water based on consumption (yet) we may as well enjoy a good shower while we can.

Firstly Triton make a tank fed electic shower, and a mains fed electric shower and a tank fed mixer power shower - which is it?

If it is a mains fed electric or tank fed electric then costs would be

replumb the shower for extra hot feed from cylinder € ?
Shower mixer of decent quailty €300
Booster Pump €350
Dedicated flow from cold water storage to pump € ?
Possible upgrade of cylinder size € ?
