I have a friend who is working in the public service.
Almost fifteen years ago they were given extra duties and the agreement from the line manager at the time was to compensate my friend with x number of hours of overtime per week.
About one year ago the public service organisation was told to stop all overtime payments. My friend had their "overtime" payments stopped but was still doing the work. Then this work was taken off them and given to someone else. There was no compensation made to my friend even though this 'overtime' payment was a regular feature of their pay and they suffered a big loss in wages.
Where does my friend stand?
