PTSB mortgage application processing time

Hi, I applied for a mortgage from ptsb 2 weeks ago. I've heard nothing since, despite several emails to the mortgage specialist i was dealing with. When I met him he told me it would be 4-6 months (!) for the approval to come through, though i see they have advertised 72 hour approval (once your application has been checked). So do they just sit on the application for months and then process in 72 hrs from then? Anyone got any recent experience?

We currently find that PTSB turns things around in two weeks. So if you sent in all the required documents with your application, it should take about 2 - 3 weeks to get an approval.
 
Hm, it's 2 weeks today, and I have asked three times if he has everything he needs!
I'll have to drop into the branch to see if i can get a response.
