I would like to study Psychiatric Nursing.I have missed the CAO deadline for 2010. I will be applying as a mature student. What are my options and the best route to take to study as a mature student here in Ireland or abroad, application process colleges etc.

When they stopped teaching it here for a few years, my sister studied it in Scotland. The course was totally funded by Her Majesty's government, we had great amusement every time a cheque would arrive in my parents house with the Queens crest for her living expenses.

No tuition fees for students domiciled in Scotland or other EU countries outside the UK
Fees of not more than £1,820 per year (£2,895 for Medicine) for students from the rest of the UK commencing in 2009 (compared over £3,000 p.a. at universities in England)
An agreed formula for limiting increases in student accommodation costs year on year
A plentiful supply of good quality and reasonably-priced rented accommodation in the private sector which many students prefer after first year ie a group of friends sharing a flat
Cost of living estimated to be 14% less than UK average
No transport costs getting from student residences to classes
