Yes it would be helpful to have the records of her PRSI contributions and also her superannuation record. I understand my own circumstances well, and my HR department were very helpful to me. Her HR department should be able to help with her superannuation record. Does her current employer have the information about her previous employment? Or are they still separate?
It's a few years since I had to make any enquiries for myself, so I can't recall all the details. I have no idea whether professional advice would be necessary. Public sector pension schemes vary depending on when service commenced, and I dont know how easy it would be to find an advisor who understands them!
