PRSI dentist

Hi

I am slightly confused with regard to PRSI dentists, welfare benefits and VHI dental care.

Firstly I qualify for PRSI dental care, but for this is it necessary to attend a PRSI dentist, from the list on http://www.welfare.ie/publications/dentistlist?
Or could I attend a dentist of my choice and claim back on one of the MED forms?

I am also covered with VHI dental care, but on their site (http://www.vhi.ie/pdf/products/prsifaq.pdf), it says 'you must visit a PRSI participating dentist'. Does this also mean that I need to attend a dentist on the PRSI dentist list from welfare?

If I must attend a PRSI dentist to get these benefits, can someone let me know of a good dentist in Dublin 2 or 8, who would be good with someone who does not like going to the dentist at all!!

Thanks for your help

MF, most dentists are in this scheme, have you tried contacting the dentist of your choice and seeing if they are covered? Can't recommend a dentist in these areas, sorry!

Not Dublin 2 or 8 but Dublin 7 in case it's of any use - I go to Rod Crichton listed and find him good.

Thanks ClubMan and terrysgirl33

I've rang the dentist I had in mind and they are not part of the PRSI scheme, unfortunately

I might go to Dublin 7 if I get no more suggestions...
