prsi contributions as a self-employed person

I have realised that my prsi contributions this year are zero because my profit has fallen below the 3000 (approx) cut off point .

Should I be considering making a voluntary contribution anyway?
Or have I probably made enough contributions as it is?

(I have been making prsi-self contributions fairly regularly over the past 25 years or so and am coming up to retirement age).

By the way , I filled out an online form to be sent my prsi contribution record a week or so ago .Is it normal for this to take a while for them to send this out in the post?

thanks

It is possible to calculate the amount payable from the PRSI record which SW will send out.
With 25 years payments made you should be in line for a 98% rate of pension, that is assuming you paid every year. Therefore it is important to check that list so that if you don't have enough contributions now it may be worth your while to pay voluntary ones
