protecting wall from heat from stove

Hi, recently instaled a wood burning stove, however the paint on the wall at the back of the stove is cracking.
would anyone know of a solution?
is there some fire proof stuff that would also look nice,as its in the living room.
would tiles do the job?would the tiles have to be heat resistant?

You can get galess bases and wallcovers from the stove merchants.

Yes. Tile the wall. Tiles are fired at a much higher temperature than your stove can ever reach. I've a stove in an alcove with tiled walls. No problems.
