property sold and monies not released query

Hi ,
Quick question. We have sold our home before christmas but due to the bank delaying in returning a letter of redemption on the deeds it has resulted in our monies remaining with our solicitor for the past 2 weeks. This delay may go on for a further few days or more. Abviously there is some small degree of due diligance on both parties by this simple matter being delayed.

Am I entitled to the interest incurred whilst the funds are not transferred from my solicitors account to ours.
There could be several hundred involved and it is frustrating as we could be reducing our existing mortgage if we had these funds.

As a solicitor's client account is usually a current account for operational reasons, it may or may not be accruing any interest.
