Problems with RCD switch - Triton shower

Had the Triton electric shower running the other night, during this, the RCD switch in the fuse box tripped. Every since, the water from the electric shower is only slighty warm. It does not get hot. There is a low pressure indicator on the shower, but it isn't illuminated. No issue or change with the water pressure coming from the shower, just the temperature. The house & hence shower are only 3 years old & this is the first occurence. Any ideas to what is now wrong with the shower? Damaged heating element? Or is the problem with some fuse or the RCD fuse?

Damaged heating element

Don't know the model no, but most of these have a 1/2/3 setting which turns on 1, 2 or 3 elements. If one blows (they are all in one part/unit) they water will not be as hot.

Cheers! Saw the config on the Triton website, did show 3 elements on the model I have. If we're correct, I would have to replace the entire part. Right? So, why didn't the RCD protect the shower? That's what it is designed to do.

The RCD is designed to protect you, not the shower. In any event it is probably a RCBO any tripped from a over current from the element blowing rather than a neutral/earth fault.

Replacing the part should solve the problem then. Possibly, get an electrician in to carryout the repair & verify nothing else in the hosue circuitry is at fault.
