I am currently completing the CA24 forms as part of a probate application and in one section it asks to enter the gross market value of household contents, e.g. furniture, antiques, jewellery, paintings etc
there are is no valuation furniture and most is a few decades old at least with little or no value....
how much detail have do I need to complete in this section or can I leave it blank?
It is generally accepted that most of us will end up with a house full of crap that will cost more to dispose of than it is worth. Unless there is art or antiques, Revenue will accept a nominal figure.
Having recently cleared a house for an elderly aunt in a nursing home at a cost of 500 euro, that is the reality.
