Hi,
the bulk of my income is subject to paye, I am subject to Preliminary Tax due to rental income.
I calculate my Preliminary tax solely based on rental income and associated expenses and capital allowances. I have a PT liability of €2000 to declare by 31st October 2012 .
I have large medical expenses (nursing home fees) in 2012 which I can offset against my paye when I claim in early 2013. I know that this will generate a tax rebate greater than €2000.

Can I factor in the medical expenses into the calculations on the rental income and thus declare a zero PT liability for 2012?

Or does the paye have to be kept seperate from the other-income.

thanks for you interest
Best Regards

If you think that your overall liability is nil then you don't have to pay anything.
