I had no difficulty over 20 years ago getting temporary employment whilst (heavily!) pregnant; most annoyingly very early in my pregnancy a permanent job offer was withdrawn as soon as I mentioned it - at least that (one hopes!) couldn't happen today.
Ah - the old withdrawal method. I remember that.most annoyingly very early in my pregnancy a permanent job offer was withdrawn as soon as I mentioned it
I can't see it being a problem getting temp work whilst being pregnant. If anyone (e.g. agencies) suggest otherwise tell them you are pregnant not sick!
Completely correct.full-time permanent work....well the potential employers are hardly likely to tell you that they are not hiring you because you are pregnant now are they? more likely they will say "there were better candidates yada yada yada...."
i could see why they would be reluctent to hire a pregnany woman. a lot of time, money, possibly training etc would be taken up. that said, i do not agree with such a practice. being pregnant should not be an obstacle.
Ah - the old withdrawal method. I remember that.
rmelly/clubman - I'm really offended by the way you have linked my post.
Lone parents get more than enough in the line of stereotypes, put-downs and incorrect assumptions; we really don't need any more of this trash perpetuated.
