Potterton thermostat help

My potterton thermostat EP2000 is playing up!

I have it programmed for twice daily.
However if the thermostat remains up then it comes on.....
But on the thermostat the CH and HW are not showing it on yet i can hear it?

Should it be on Auto or Clock for it not to do this?
Or is it more serious.
