These guidelines are to supplement the General Posting Guidelines and the Editorial Policy of Askaboutmoney.
The objective of this forum is to give contributors an opportunity to discuss non financial issues. It is not designed for random musings and funny stories. These should be posted in The Craic or elsewhere on the net.
All contributors should be proud of the reputation of Askaboutmoney for providing good answers to questions and for providing a forum for discussion. Before posting on Letting Off Steam, ask yourself if your post damages that reputation.
If the moderators close a topic, please respect that decision. Do not kick off the discussion again by starting a new topic or by raising the subject in another thread.
There are some very good Irish discussion forums which contributors should be aware of:

politics.ie
All of these forums require registration in order to post. It is part of the Askaboutmoney philosophy not to require registration. Many people are reluctant to register on a site where they might be divulging personal information. However, Letting Off Steam is not a core forum for Askaboutmoney. If we cannot eliminate the posts which damage the reputation of the site, we will restrict posting on this forum to registered users.
