I am thinking of putting some savings in the Post Office so that I can get at the money quick if needed, but, it says that they only pay interests every 12 months. Does this mean that any money that I withdraw before 12 months will not claim interest?.

Also do all agreements (with banks etc) have a statement that they can give my information to third parties?

Post office is at 3.3% which is better than my TSB account at 1.9%

The post office calculate interest daily so you would get some interest even if you didn't leave it all in for the year. Link to PDF doc confirming this.

Have you seen the Financial Best Buys post for Lump sum deposits. There are better rates with good ease of access available.
