I recently took our 14" Daewoo portable TV to France when we were on holidays there recently (to play DVD's in the evening for kids). I tried to pick up TV channels when there bit to no avail. When I re-connected it back home I was unable to get the 4 channels normally available via the aerial but I can get RTE1 on 183 mhz and RTE2 on 207 mhz - roughly equivalent to the old VHF, I think. The original 4 channels just show a loud, snowy picture. I've tried everything I can think of - and the French episode may be a complete red herring - but cannot the UHF channels. Anything above 600 mhz just won't work. The auto search will stop at the right place but just will not show the clean picture. Any thoughts, anyone?????

To be honest, it sounds like a signal problem. Are you sure your aerial connections are all as they should be? I very much doubt that fiddling around with the tuning while in France could have produced the problem...
