1. Boiler service people recommended last year at service that heating pump be relocated from upstairs hotpress to kitchen under the boiler. Said this was more efficient. Currently getting work done on house and had included moving pump under boiler as part of spec. Builder is now on site and says that his plumbers don't think relocating the pump is necessary - he'll do it if we want but its basically our call. Anyone have any experience of this?

2. Noise from negative head pump. Getting attic converted and ensuite bathroom. Have been advised that the noise from these pumps is considerable. aNyone have any experience of them and advise as to where to locate? The attic room will be used as a fulltime bedroom.

Hello Cake
I have almost completed my house renovation. This included similar pump and boiler work. All i can say is that the noise from the pump is dreadful and is one of the most annoying things about the whole refub (in an array of annoying things I have encountered in this process).

Do not underestimate the noise......

Thanks H.P. don't like the sound of that (no pun intended). Anyone else have any opinions, experience on either of these?

your best bet is to get a plumber in and ask him to flush out the system and also service the boiler while he is there and make sure all rads are heating and balanced before you pay. As you are asking these sorts of questions i strongly recommend getting the plimber
