the water in the solid fuel boiler is reaching over temp and the pump is possible not pumping, by opening both zones your releasing the hot water to a greater area and reducing the temp,
would be best to have just one boiler on at any time its not ideal to have both working together
check the pump for the solid fuel and see what temp its set at, its possible its set to high usually 55 deg is about right
