Hi,

Have a bit of a dilemma, I have bought a old stone building which is made of local sandstone, I bought it from a builder who partially renovated it, he fillted new windows but ruined the old stone in the process by putting blocks around the doors and windows defacing the old stone in the process, I was hoping to repair the stone to keep the original look of the building but I have been advised by a structure engineer that it is not in good a condition and to plaster over it would be the best long term option, has anyone any advice on the best way to approach it, my plasterers are haveing a tough time sourcing proprer lime plaster to do the job has anyone gone through this kind os renovation any advice would be appreciated the building is over a 100 years old.

Regards
Brian
