Plaster on PVC windows

Hi,

I need help.I'm after moving into a new build done by direct labour.My problem is that when is was being plastered I was away for 3 weeks and asked my brother to look after the plastering while I was away.But when i came back I discovered that the plaster hadn't washed down the windows well enough and now i'm left with all my windows flecked with plaster.When I took the situation up with the plasterer he sent arounf two "lackies" to clean them but all they were doing was scratching the plaster so I ran them.He was paid by the brother after the job was done ( I know my mistake) so he isn't going to return to sort the issue.
Steel wool did a great job on the glass but I'm at my wits end trying (and failing badly) to get it off the PVC part of the windows and Facia and soffit.Can anyone help me out PLEASE!!My front doors and patio doors are destroyed with it.

You can use mortar remover.It is available in all medium to large hardware shops.It basically is a weak acid.You put in on (make sure you wear gloves and wash the skin if it comes into contact) leave it for 5 minutes and then gently scrub it off.Make sure and give the pvc a good rinsing with water when done.

I only had a few v. small spots on my pvc and it caused no problem.It may be no harm that you test it on a small piece first, maybe put on the mortar remover leave for half an hour wash off and then check that there is no damage to the pvc colour for the next 3 - 4 days.If there is no problem with the sample then you can proceed with the rest.

I had the same problem and bought a paint scrapper and poured water into a squirty bottle like (windowlene) ...... worked a treat. But you need to use the two together otherwise the scrapper will scratch the window

I had the exact same problem with my house, the windows and doors (black pvc) were in a dreadful state with plaster. I used just ordinary white vinegar in a spray bottle and a bit of elbow grease and they it took it off brilliant .
