Hi folks,
A question for you...
Our roofer starting laying our new blue/black tegral slates around the same time as the plasterer was doing the chimney.
Now the slates were not put on near the chimney while the plaster was working but somehow, a fine dust seem to have got on the slates.
Now that he has finished slating around the chimney area, the colour difference looks awful :( as the last slates that were put on are perfect.
My question is will the rain eventually was off the dust???
I'm guessing my most likely option is to go powerwashing them over the weekend???

Any ideas folks

In all likelihood, yes, rain will do the job. Whatever you do, leave the powerwasher out of it. You'll destroy your roof, possibly.

Do not go anywhere near the roof with a powerwasher, you would rip the paint off the slates !!

Thrutone slates come with a clear lacquer on the face of the slates, this usually weathers off the slate within a few months ........taking whatever staining that "happens" during the building process.

The ONLY course of action to take in this instance is to wait

Thaks for the replys guys....
Looks like I'll be leaving them alone and fingers crossed they will sort themselves out.
Where would we be without AAM for advice?????

Had a similar problem with ours, was wrecking my head for a while, eventually forgot about it and now can't find what I was worried about ! Time and weathering will sort it, believe you me. I got few funny looks when I mentioned it to the tradesmen on the job at the time !
