Plaster damage on window boards

Hi,
We are halfway through plastering our new build. However, we never got around to giving our timberwork a quick coat of varnish first. I'm now worried that the plaster will have damaged the boards, as we were hoping to varnish them. Is there anyway to get rid of marks cause by the plaster?

not a problem,i get it all the time.i have a orbital sander for the job and its also an edgeing sander for floors will get any marks off,you can probably rent one.
