Planning Permission requird for shed ?

I live in a semi-detached house on a corner site. A couple of years back, I had a small flat roofed concrete shed (1.5m width x 5m long x 2m high) built on to the side of the house using the exterior garden side wall as one of the walls for the shed. The shed does not extend past the front of the house.

Should I have applied for planning permission or is this exempt ?
 
As far as I know if the new structure alters the front of the building then it needs planning permission, in this case you should seek retention PP to keep the structure as it is.
