Folks - can't find any info on this (search broken doesn't help), but if there are posts related to this, please show me where ...
I'm putting in a planning application to have my entrance gateway widened by 50cm. As part of the planning process I need to place an ad in a newspaper. The quotes I've got for this appear to be a rip off - 350 euro for irish times and the cheapest i could find is the evening herald at 230 euro. Has anyone found any cheaper?
I'm afraid newspapers make a massive cash cow of these and the Competition Authority should investigate why 2 Inches squared is €400 in the planning section and €100 in the classifieds.
depends what CC you are seeking permission from, if it is South County Dublin then Tallaght Echo, Southside people etc. are much cheaper than the mainstream papers. Ask your CC for a list of approved newspapers and call them, look at the freebe's/local one as they tend to be cheaper.
Use a local paper rather than national. The planning documentation should name the acceptable ones for your area.........eg I used Kildare Nationalist & it was only about €40
