Philips 42" HD LCD - Sound interferece issue.

I have the above TV. Got it at Christmas from HN. over the last couple of weeks it has started omitting a small but annoying tut tut tut tut tut noise. When I mute the telly it stops. when I unmute it comes back. if I knock it off it is fine for maybe an hour or so but then comes back. It is not very loud, just annoying. I though it may be the sky+ box but i had this powered off and put on a dvd and it still happened.

2 questions

1) any ideas as to what maybe causing this.

2) it is well under warranty. what it the repair situation with HN. do they call out or do they expect you to bring the telly somewhere?

Do a search for philips lcd tv as there are other threads on this, including one that I mentioned I had problems with the sound on a 32inch Philips lcd tv. Tesco took mine back and gave me a refund as they didn't have the same model in stock to replace it.

I had the same problem with my 32" lcd phillips. My sound eventually went in my tv! i sent it back for a new sound module. Seems to be ok now but i would'nt advise buying philips again..
