hi I'm trying to get on the property ladder but can't afford a house with a garden, however I should be able to get an apartment/duplex.

Does anyone know what the situation is on bringing a small dog into an apartment or duplex? Ive never been in a duplex so I am not sure if you have someone above or below you. The dog is 13 years old so I don't want to have to give him away after all these years

thanks for any feedback

Some ground floor duplexes have mini gardens, but it depends on the complex. I'm not sure about the rules regarding pets even where there is a garden though.

I *think* most leasehold properties have a standard clause that prohibits keeping animals although I don't know how strigently this would be applied. I guess as long as your neighbours don't complain.....

I know how you feel though - I bought my last house almost exclusively on the basis that it suited my dogs needs!!!
