I have just discovered that ALL information pertaining to my house planning application is available on the Co Co website for any one to view. This includes my personal phone number as it was on a letter, my living conditions and reasons as to why I wished to build in a particular area, also full plans of my house, which to my is an invitation if there are any budding thieves out there looking for house plans, they don't even have to scout out a place!

Just wondering can you request that this information be removed and do they have to remove it?
Thanks.

I believe that the Data Protection Commisioner has covered this very issue before : http://www.dataprotection.ie.

Yes and No, well maybe if it has contact details..

However they have removed PPS Numbers:

BTW you will probably find that you don't own the copyright to the plans to your house, no matter how much input you put into them. Your architect does, and dont be surprised if he/she reuses them for another customer in the future.

Thanks for that, has shed some light for me!

Did the plans myself!
Not worried about copy right it's more a privacy issue!

Find it unreal that that kind of info is widely available on the net for any one to access. I just don't think it is necessary to have such personal info even if it is relevant to the planning application surely they could take out phone numbers etc.

contact info on the application form is now NOT available for public viewing since roughtly middle of last year.....

therefore the only contact information available for public viewing is on documentation supplied by either applicant or agent... so make sure that none is included.

personal info is available for public viewing especially if you are trying to show housing need.... this is the nature of the beast unfortunately.

Try not to included info such as bank account details, bank balances etc..

i have often included information such as old school reports, GP letters, PP letters, utiliy bills etc.... some info may be embarrassing, but the agent should always let the client know the reality...

in this situation the applicant appears to have done his / her own application...
